Facilities Our College has a heritage listed chapel, well resourced classrooms, modern computer and Science labs and separate primary and secondary school libraries. The College also features a multi-purpose centre, which is used for College assemblies, gym and functions. The school also has a modern school gymnasium. Electives Years 7 – 10 As well as the compulsory curricular under all the Key Learning Areas set down by the Board of Studies we also offer electives in Music, Computing Studies, Visual Arts, Design & Technology, Drama, Commerce, and Food Technology. The School has a compulsory LOTE program where students study either French or Arabic. The School also caters for Gifted and Talented students as well as students with Special Learning Needs. Electives Years 11 and 12
We strive to cater to student needs and interests and so some subjects offered are: English Standard, English Advanced, English Extension, all Science subjects, Visual Arts, Ancient and Modern History, Business Studies, Legal Studies, Arabic, French, Mathematics, General Mathematics, Extension Mathematics, Information Process Technology, Studies in Religion, Software Design, PD/Health/PE as well as TVET which is TAFE run courses tailored to student interests and needs. Extra-curricular Activities Students may participate in Choir, Numeracy and Literacy programs for Year 7 – 10, Drama activities including an Annual Drama production, Public speaking and Debating. Year 10 students participate in Work Experience. Camps are organised for Years 7, 9 and 11 to help with Social Issues, Peer Support, Study Techniques and developing spiritual confidence. Special Features The school has strong links with the Local Community. Parental support and involvement is strong, which is evident in a very active P & F Committee. Student Welfare Our student’s welfare is of great importance in our School. Students have access to Counsellors, Careers Information, as well as a Pastoral Care Program. All Year 7 students participate in the Peer Support Program. The school also provides and encourages Student Leadership in the form of SRC and Senior School Captains. All students have the support and guidance of a Pastoral Co-ordinator. |
